About the space:

This quirky kitchen is home to Michael, a bachelor in Central Bangor.

Michael was keen for an industrial style kitchen, so didn’t want anything too off the shelf. The space is extremely compact, and had to incorporate two large items- a double Belfast sink Michael had bought at auction, and the impressive black range cooker. This meant that we had to be clever about how to use the remaining space.

As well as the cooker, and Belfast sink the space does also fit a compact dishwasher and a retro fridge freezer.

There is also a clever larder under the stairs. This space was tricky, so we opted for made-to-measure cabinets that would accommodate a larder, microwave and even space for the ironing board. This was previously an under-utilised cupboard, but now every square inch has been used.

We’re particularly proud of our box cooker hood, as Michael painted this in magnetic blackboard paint- this creates a quirky feature. The magnetic scrabble letters add personality. There are a few bold words, and Michael asked if we wanted to re-arrange them but of course we didn’t! See if you can spot them…

To complete the quirky salvage feel, we sourced a mobile island (we still have one of these left in our studio). This has seating on one side, and shelving on the other.

January sale is now on. 15% of new kitchens and 10% of refurbishments.
